- GAME NIGHT: Clippers (2-9) at Sixers (5-6)
* The Philadelphia 76ers take home court tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Wachovia Centre, which will be a reunion of sorts for Elton Brand and the boys from the west shore. Tonight will also provide the chance for Brand to square off against his friend Baron Davis. The Sixers are comming off one of their worst performances of the season against the TimberWolves, and it will be important for them to get off to a good start tonight to erase any of that bad taste from their mouths. The Clippers are a team in flux, as they traded Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley to the Knicks in return for Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins. The Sixers need to win tonight because they are the better team on paper; they need to prove to themselves that they can, and should, win these games against lesser opponents. Here are a few keys for tonight:
- BRING THE D- The Sixers need to start playing better help defense. Samuel Dalembert has looked lost at times in the paint, and the success of this team directly depends on how well they can play defense. It's not only Big Sam's fault though- the defensive rotation has not been where coach Mo Cheeks would like it to be for much of the season.
- BRING THE INTENSITY- The Sixers cannot afford to sleep-walk tonight at any point. Baron Davis is too good and Mike Dunleavy won't let his team take the Philly natives lightly.
