Another Abysmal Performace!!

So the Phillies had a chance to come in and get back on track against a team they have dominated all year long in the Braves and what happens? The Phils get dominated in the ninth inning to put what was a close game far out of reach. Another phenomenal pitching performance wasted as Kyle Kendrick pitched seven innings of one run ball giving up only four hits. That usually is a win for a pitcher but not tonight as Kendrick took a loss in this one because he gave up one of Brian McCann's two homers. In the ninth inning the game was tied at 1 and Brad Lidge comes in the game and serves up a grand slam for McCann's other homer as his ERA climbed to 2.36 with the 5 runs he gave up without retiring a batter. When are the Phillies going to break out of their slump? It has to be soon right? They already have lost the division lead now they are 2 games off the hated division rivals and they still have 2 more to play against Atlanta. Chase Utley has struggled mightily as he was 0 for 17 before his single in the ninth inning and Jimmy Rollins has yet to play like the MVP of the league that he was last year. Pat Burrell has begun to cool off as well after his torrid start. The only hitter actually hitting is Ryan Howard, he is leading the league with 30 homers and way too many strikeouts. Wake up Philly it's time to play baseball again!! Now with Xavier Nady being traded to the Yankees, the Phillies may be looking at Jason Bay or Matt Holliday, but it is said that the prices for these two hitters are ridiculously high, so the Phils may just stand pat at this point. The trade deadline is Thursday so we will see what happens.
